By signing up for a Hint account, you are entering into a legally binding agreement with Hint. Please take a moment and read these Terms of Service carefully as they regulate the relationship between yourself and Hint - and as such affect your legal rights and obligations.
Terms of Service

Hint Technology Stockholm AB and its affiliates (hereinafter “Hint”, “us”, “our” or “we”) offers a subscription service with personalized features and functionalities (the “Service”) that allows our users (hereinafter “you”) to receive recommendations on what content to watch across a wide range of streaming services which is made available over the Internet via the Service to a compatible internet-accessible device.
In order to access our Services, you need an active Hint account. When creating an account, you must agree to and accept these Terms of Service. Additionally, an active subscription is required to use the Service. Subscription plans may also be regulated by additional subscription specific terms (“Subscription Terms”) which you in that case accept when signing up for that subscription. Information on the subscription plans offered can be found on your local Hint website.
Apart from these Terms of Service, your agreement with Hint is also regulated by: (i) the information that you are provided with during the purchase; and (ii) any Subscription Terms that you accept for your specific subscription. Together, all information that regulates your relationship with Hint is called the “Agreement”.Hint provides the Service subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Agreement. If you do not agree to the Agreement, you may not use the Service.

1. Age Limit and Account Eligibility
1.1) To be eligible to enter into the Agreement and set up an account or enter into a subscription plan with Hint you must:
a) be at least eighteen (18) years old or if you are between 13 to 18 years old, have a guardian's approval to use the Service, and review these Terms with that guardian;
b) be a resident of the country in which the Service is made available to you;
c) provide correct personal information where requested;
d) provide a valid payment method;
e) agree to adhere to the Agreement.
1.2) The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13, and if we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to remove such information and terminate the account.
2. The Service
2.1) Hint provides a personalized digital subscription service through which you can receive recommendations on what content to watch across your streaming services as well as other types of streaming-related recommendations. The Service is accessed via the Hint application and may only be used for your non-commercial personal use of such in accordance with the Agreement.
2.2) In order to use the Service, you must use a device compatible with Hint’s technical requirements. The Service may not have identical functionalities across all devices and platforms. For a list of the technical requirements for using the Service, please visit Hint’s website.
2.3) Hint updates its application regularly, in order to ensure the security of the application, as well as for updating and improving the user experience. For these reasons, Hint may at times require that you update to a newer version of the application.
2.4) Hint reserves the right to, at any time, modify the technical requirements for the use of the Service and to change, add or remove business partners and payment methods. Such modifications and changes will be posted on Hint’s website.
3. Subscription plans
3.1) Hint offers various subscription plans, as amended from time to time. Information on the subscription plans currently provided by Hint may be found on Hint's website.
3.2) The Service provided to you will depend on the type of subscription plan that you have signed up for.
3.3) Hint reserves the right, at its own discretion, to remove existing subscription plans or to change any features or functionalities of its subscription plans. If such changes negatively affect an existing subscription in more than a limited way, you will be informed and will have the possibility to terminate the subscription, see section 9 and your Subscription Terms.
4. Free Trial and other campaigns
4.1) Your Subscription may start with a free trial period of the Service (“Free Trial”) or other campaign. The Free Trial and other campaigns are intended to allow users to try the Service for free or for a reduced price for the first time. As such, a Free Trial may not be used more than once per person. Free Trial and/or campaign eligibility is determined by Hint at its sole discretion and Hint may limit the eligibility to prevent Free Trial or campaign abuse. Hint reserves the right to revoke or terminate a Free Trial or campaign if Hint, in its sole discretion, determines that a user is not eligible. You may not combine Free Trial or campaign offers with other offers.
4.2) When you sign up for a Free Trial, you acknowledge and agree that you will automatically be transferred to a paid subscription plan at the end of the Free Trial unless you cancel your subscription before the first payment, in which case you will not be charged and your subscription will be canceled.
4.3) The Early Bird Premium Plan campaign is available for a limited time only. It may reference a number of premium features that are examples of what we intend to develop in the future to be included in the Hint Premium Plan. However, we make no guarantees on the exact release dates or availability of these features. The Early Bird Premium Plan ensures you'll have long-term access to Premium features at a heavily discounted price and be among the first to enjoy these enhancements once they are rolled out. As long as your subscription remains active, you will also enjoy a 50% lifetime discount against the then-current price for an Annual subscription plan.
5. Prices and Payments
5.1) Prices are displayed on Hint's website and will be clearly communicated to you when you sign up for a Subscription. Prices may vary depending on the type of subscription plan and/or payment method used. Prices do not include any data communication costs or fees which your internet or telecommunication service provider may claim under your contract with such a service provider.
5.2) You may, at any time, switch between different subscription plans. Hint may, at its sole discretion, allow such switches to occur before the end of the current subscription period.
5.3) Hint may make changes to the price of the Service by giving you written notice at least 30 days in advance. Such notice will always give you sufficient time to cancel your subscription before the new price goes into effect. By not canceling your subscription, you accept the new price for the Service.
5.4) Subscriptions are paid in advance (or as otherwise agreed) until the subscription is canceled. Hint does not provide any partial or full refunds or credits once the subscription is started, except as otherwise specified in the Agreement.
6. Intellectual Property Rights
6.1) The Service and the Content is our and/or our licensors’ copyrighted property. All trademarks, service marks, trade names, trade dress, domain names, patents, inventions, trade secrets, copyrights, database rights and all other intellectual or industrial proprietary rights (including know-how), in the Service or the Content are owned by us or our licensors, or any affiliated companies to us or our licensors. No element of the Service or the Content may be used or exploited in any way other than as part of the Service offered to you and to the extent expressly permitted under the Agreement. We do not transfer any rights (including intellectual property rights) or title to the Service or any part thereof to you, nor do we transfer any such rights or title to the Content or any portion thereof. Additionally, nothing shall be construed as Hint granting, by implication or otherwise, any license or right of use of any trademark displayed on or within the Service or the Content to you.
7. Software License
7.1) Subject to the terms of the Agreement and your payment of any applicable fee, Hint hereby grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, non-transferable license to access and use the Service software for your personal non-commercial use via a compatible internet-accessible device.
7.2) You acknowledge, warrant and agree to procure that you, and/or anyone to whom you allow access to the Service via your account, will not copy, reproduce, duplicate, modify, adapt, create derivative works from, display, publish, distribute, disseminate, broadcast, transmit, sell, rent, lease, lend, sub-license or circulate or otherwise exploit for any purpose (commercial or otherwise) any material, and/or part of or all of the Service.
7.3) You also acknowledge, warrant and agree to procure that you, and/or anyone to whom you allow access to the Service via your account will at all times abide to the Agreement and specifically not; (1) redistribute, circumvent or disable any content protection system or digital rights management technology used in the Service; (2) decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble or otherwise reduce any Service to a human-readable form; (3) remove any identification, copyright or other proprietary notices; or (4) access or use the Service in an unlawful or unauthorized manner or in a manner that suggests an association with our products, services or brands.
7.4)Use of the Services in breach of this section 7 shall always be deemed to constitute a material breach of this Agreement and may be cause for copyright infringement claims.
8. Third-party content and links
8.1) Hint is not responsible for and does not warrant the quality or the safety of any hyperlinks and/or other elements generated by third parties accessible from the Service, our website and/or any forums provided by Hint, both inside and outside of the Service.
8.2) The Service may integrate, be integrated into, or be provided in connection with third-party services and content. Hint does not control those third-party services nor their content, and such services may be subject to separate terms and/or policies. You should carefully read any agreement, Terms of Service and/or privacy policies presented to you that apply to such third-party services and/or content.
9. Duration and termination
9.1) The below section 9 will apply unless otherwise specified when signing up to the Service or in any Subscription Terms.
9.2) Hint may, at its sole discretion, at times offer customers to pause their current subscription.
9.3) If you end your subscription, it will expire at the end of your current subscription period. If you have taken advantage of a Free Trial offer, which has not yet expired, the subscription will end immediately.
9.4) Hint may terminate the Agreement with immediate effect at any time and without prior notice if you fail to comply with the Agreement or with any applicable laws, rules or regulation, or if you otherwise use the Service in a fraudulent way or in a way that may cause damage to Hint, its affiliates, or any third party.
9.5) Termination shall have no effect on the parties' rights or obligations under Section 6 ("Intellectual Property Rights"), section 11.6 (User Generated Content) or other terms of the Agreement that by their nature remains in effect even after termination of the Agreement. Upon the expiry or termination of the Agreement, for whatever reason, all licenses automatically and without further actions cease to apply and shall revert to Hint.
10. Hint’s rights and responsibilities
10.1) Hint may at times contact you. All communication between Hint and you will be in accordance with Hint’s Privacy Policy.
10.2) We aim to make the Service available at all times. However, Hint provides no guarantee that the Service will always be free of errors or interruptions. If there are any faults or interruptions affecting the Service, Hint shall be given the opportunity to correct these without being in breach of the Agreement. Hint also has the right, within reason, to close the Service, for example, if needed to carry out upgrades and maintenance.
10.3) Hint has the right to, fully or partially, transfer its rights and obligations under the Agreement to third parties. Hint also has the right to engage subcontractors to carry out its obligations under the Agreement. Any such changes which may affect the processing of your personal data shall be handled in accordance with the Hint Privacy Policy.
10.4) Hint may, at its own discretion, make changes in the Agreement. When Hint makes material changes to the Agreement that negatively affects the Service or your Subscription, this will be communicated to you e.g. by sending you an email, text message or a notification via the Service. Such communication will be sent by Hint at least thirty (30) days before the changes take effect, allowing you to cancel the Subscription ahead of the changes if you so wish. Your continued use of the Service will constitute your acceptance of the changes. It is therefore important that you read any notice or message from us carefully. If you wish to terminate your Subscription due to such updates or changes in the Agreement you may do so by following the instructions set out in section 9 and your Subscription Terms.
11. Your rights and responsibilities
11.1) You may only use the Service for your personal non-commercial use in accordance with the terms of the Agreement and as expressly permitted under section 7.
11.2) You are responsible for maintaining sole control over your account and to prevent undue access to the Service. You also undertake to follow any requirement on password security and to not reveal your password or any other personalized details associated with your account to anyone for as long as you subscribe to the Service. If another person is allowed access to the Service according to these Terms of Service, you shall procure that those who access/use the Services observe the terms of this Agreement in all respects and you shall be liable for any breach of the terms of this Agreement from such individual.
11.3) It is your responsibility to inform Hint of any changes to the data you provided at signup and/or at purchase, especially to the e-mail address or phone number with which you created your account.
11.4) You are responsible for all user-generated content (e.g. reviews and profile picture) that you create and share in the Service or on any platforms related to the Service (e.g. Social media channels) (“User Generated Content”). You are also responsible for ensuring that you hold all rights (including all intellectual property rights) thereto and that such User Generated Content will be in accordance with the terms of this Agreement. You may not share any User Generated Content that is, or is at risk to be, considered as illegal, insulting, offensive, harassing, obscene, defamatory, discriminatory, a breach of privacy, or infringing any third-party rights. You acknowledge and accept that Hint has the right to monitor, review, remove or disable access to any User Generated Content at any time and at Hint’s sole discretion. We ask that you please keep our service and communication channels as respectful and relevant as possible.
11.5) You hereby grant Hint a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-revocable, transferable and sub-licensable unrestricted right to use, including but not limited to host, reproduce, modify, distribute, display and in any other way make publicly available any and all of your User Generated Content in any now existing or future media for commercial purposes or otherwise, including but not limited for the purpose of marketing Hint, the Service, and/or its licensors and/or business partners.
11.6) You have no right to transfer your rights and obligations under the Agreement, unless you have Hint’s written consent to do so.
11.7) You must not use the Service in any way that causes, or is likely to cause, the Service to be interrupted, damaged or impaired in any way, nor will you use the Service or your device for any unlawful or fraudulent purposes.
11.8) You acknowledge that the Service may include content which is not appropriate or suitable for minors. You therefore agree, not to let minors access the Service unless they are under your supervision.
12. Sanctions and export control
12.1) You may not use, access or otherwise export or re-export the Service except as authorized by United States law and the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service was obtained. In particular, but without limitation, the Service may not be exported, re-exported or otherwise made available (a) into any country or region embargoed by the U.S. Government, or (b) to anyone on the U.S. Treasury Department's Specially Designated Nationals List or the U.S. Department of Commerce Denied Persons List or Entity List, EU consolidated sanctions list with designated persons. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are not located in any such country or on any such list.

13.1) The Service is made available to you under the Agreement by Hint Technology Stockholm AB, incorporated in Sweden with corporate identity number 559333-5911 and with address Dalagatan 9H, 113 61 Stockholm, Sweden.

15. Governing law and dispute resolution
15.1) The Agreement shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Sweden, excluding its conflict of laws principles. However, the Agreement will not limit any consumer protection rights that you may be entitled to under the mandatory laws of your country of residence if in conflict with the above.
15.2) If you are dissatisfied with the Service, the content available on it, or with the Agreement, your sole and exclusive remedy is to discontinue the Service. Hint shall have no liability for any indirect damages and you agree that any liability on behalf of Hint shall in all cases be limited to the amount paid by you to Hint during the twelve month preceding your claim. Hint is not liable for any disruption in your internet access.
